2025 Remembrance Day Candlelight Service

On November 10, 2025, Brighton’s Cadets 100 Brighton, 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion RCACC began a 24-hour candlelight vigil before Remembrance Day, standing honour guard through challenging weather and rotating shifts until after the November 11 ceremonies. The vigil pays tribute to those who gave their lives in major conflicts and honours all veterans, both living and deceased.

The Brighton Branch 100 colour party attended the entire candlelight ceremony, from the opening presentations to the end.

Pastor Glen Hallowell delivered the opening and closing prayers. Brighton Branch 100 President Michael F and Mayor Brian Ostrander, who is also Northumberland County Warden, attended.

Before the closing prayer, dignitaries and attendees placed candles to honor and remember all veterans.
